The Health Interview Survey (HIS) is a project coordinated by the Scientific Institute of Public Health, Operational Direction Public Health and Surveillance.
One of the objectives of the HIS is to measure the prevalence and estimate the distribution of several health indicators in the general population. This information is an important source for scientific research and public health policy. The domains that are investigated are: health and wellbeing, life style, prevention, medical consumption, health & society and health status and needs of elderly.
The purpose of this web-based application is to enhance the accessibility of these statistics for a broad range of the potential users. The data cover the five health surveys (1997, 2001, 2004, 2008 and 2013) performed in Belgium. This application is interactive. Pre-defined procedures accessible through menus make it very user-friendly, as it does not require any preliminary knowledge of the statistical package (the topic "How to use" contains important instructions).
You are free to use the results produced by this application on the sole condition that the source is mentionned (see "Acknowledgement" in the "How to use" submenu).
